In Bibione the lighthouse reopens after the fire, the mayor reassures tourists: “Constant monitoring”

SAN MICHELE AL TAGLIAMENTO. After the fire in the pine forest last weekend, the Punta Tagliamento lighthouse in Bibione reopens on Thursday 21 July, even if it can only be reached via the seafront, walking along the beach or along the cycle / pedestrian path without going into the internal part.

This was announced by the Municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento, with the mayor Flavio Maurutto who specifies that “the municipal administration is constantly in contact with the staff of the forestry organizational unit of the Veneto Region, in particular with the director of extinguishing operations and as of today, Wednesday 20 July, the monitoring of the affected area is still in progress, due to a residual risk in the basement, given by the internal embers. The smell that persists these days derives from this situation, as well as from the winds that bring towards our territory the fumes generated by the tragic fires currently underway in the Karst. However, we reassure citizens and tourists: the area is manned, with timely interventions in case of need ».

The Municipality receives reports of onlookers who enter the places affected by the fire, regardless of the delimitation signs. For Maurutto «the current situation requires the utmost prudence and collaboration on the part of everyone, so we reiterate once again not to go into the pine forest, not to go along Via del Faro, not to approach the pier. Conscientious behavior allows you to stay safe and allows the teams to operate effectively in the area ».
