Producers who have farms that do not exceed five hectares will receive the incentives.
Before more than a thousand Caucano coffee growers, the Vice Minister of Agricultural Affairs, Aura María Duarte and the Technical Manager of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC), Gerardo Montenegro Paz, launched the national program of economic incentives for the coffee sector, as part of the actions that seek to mitigate the effects caused by the El Niño phenomenon.
The Fund for Access to Agricultural Inputs, FAIA, grants a 30% incentive on the purchase of fertilizers for coffee growers in 83 municipalities in 14 departments.
In the case of Cauca, nine municipalities are the beneficiaries: La Vega, Balboa, Patía, Mercaderes, El Tambo, Popayán, Almaguer, Sucre and Cajibío.
To access this incentive, interested parties must be coffee farmers, have Sisbén classification and their crop extensions do not exceed five hectares.
