Independiente del Valle won this Sunday, May 12, and took advantage of Aucas’ draw to take the lead in Ecuador’s LigaPro, with three dates remaining until the first phase of the tournament concludes.
El Independiente managed to reverse the defeat they suffered until the 85th minute against El Nacional, who took the lead with a goal from Charles Vélez, and with scores from Kendry Páez and Renato Ibarra they won 1-2, a result that added 28 points.
Aucas was close to winning the victory at the Barcelona stadium, with a goal from Luis Cano, but their rival tied at the end thanks to a goal from Argentine Francisco Fydriszewski.
The tie left Barcelona with 22 points and with minimal options to win the first phase.
Quito League suffered a slowdown by Emelec, who drew 2-2 in a key match for the capital’s intentions to win the first phase, as they were left with 25 points and their rival maintained some option by adding 21 units .
