CLAUT. A man from 1958, from the Pordenone area, was forced to request help from rescuers during the descent from an unnamed peak in Val Ferron.
The man was returning from an exploration along the Veronica edge, a rather wild place covered with pine trees, abseiling along the ascent route but, after a certain number of rappels, he found himself perpendicular to a jump of unexpected rocks, far from the path followed uphill, and which he was not sure to overcome with the remaining rope.
His alternative would have been to go up the rope and try to abseil again, but it was a long and probably unsuccessful option.
The Suem di Pieve di Cadore helicopter was sent to his aid and also loaded on board a technician from the Valcellina Alpine and Speleological Rescue station, activated by territorial competence.
The man was identified with the coordinates provided by the sms Locator georeferencing service: he was at an altitude of 1250 meters and was actually above a complex overhang to overcome.
When the rescuers arrived, he was ready and was recovered by the helicopter rescue technician with a winch of about thirty meters.
