TREVISO. Insufficient traffic analysis, an incomplete cycle path and a dangerous pedestrian crossing.

Beyond numerous observations on details of the Veneto Strade project, and in addition to all the requests relating to analyzes on the subsoil for the discovery of hydrocarbons and heavy metals, this time the communication signed by Michela Mingardo points to the very foundations of the project.

On 30 July Mingardo writes: “With reference to the study of traffic, the graphical representations relating to the various scenarios do not allow us to evaluate the functioning of the road network at the service of the (future) Cittadella Sanitaria (via Podgora, via Cittadella della salute) of the Ca ‘ Foncello and the link between this area and the road ring outside the walls (Via Scarpa, via Venier) ».

In other words, for the mobility manager Mingardo, the analyzes conducted by Veneto Strade do not allow us to understand what will happen on the road system with Terraglio Est and Cittadella della Salute in operation, i.e. the expansion of Ca ‘Foncello, with the relative increase in traffic in one quadrant. already clogged today; just as it is not clear what will happen, according to those studies, on via Venier and the Put.

In short, there would be no basis to talk about the benefits of the East Terraglio on that area. That is one of the various criticisms made even harshly by the Environmental Protection Committee of Treviso and Casier. The date of the communication is not a simple detail. The document sent to the Public Works sector of the Municipality and to the Province is dated 30 July, on 5 August the Via della Provincia commission met and unanimously expressed a favorable opinion on the project. Yet in those five days, no further analysis appears to have been provided.

But the mobility manager makes two other criticisms of the project: «The cycle path, developed along the west side of the new road layout, ends at via Pasteur and does not continue to the hospital area as requested. The bicycles will therefore be induced to complete their route using the ordinary road network, thus passing through the roundabout that connects the ring road to the hospital, which has characteristics unsuitable for the transit of weak users ».
