IVREA. A few more weeks and the shutters of Filli Intimate line, lingerie, underwear and swimwear store, in via Arduino 38, will be lowered definitively. A few months ago, the owner, Filomena «Filli» Scardigno, who is close to turning 69 years old , took the irrevocable decision to close the business by June, with the beginning of the summer.
Needless to say, since the final sale began, the shop has been literally stormed by crowds of customers for whom underwear and the sea are essential to that certain chic that only Filli could guarantee in the city. “I decided – says Scardigno – that the time had come to rediscover the time to devote totally to myself and my personal interests, which have long been overshadowed, if not totally neglected, compared to the commitment to the activity that I always get absorbed at 360 °. I opened the first shop, still in the same sector, in 1981, in Ciriè, and, in 1985, with the transfer of the family to Ivrea, I moved to via Arduino, in the premises I am about to leave and which, for over 35 years hosted my business. I started working very early, however, and I totaled 56 years of payments: it’s time to think about me, in short ».
Filli Scardigno, who, in recent years, has taken part in several editions of the competition-referendum of the Sentinel, Lady Commercio, is probably the dean of the street and her shop was immediately an authentic point of reference for all those ladies who do not intend to compromise their style and refined elegance even in lingerie, beachwear and some accessories, without neglecting some selected items for underwear and the sea declined for men. “The high quality of what I have always offered in my shop – explains the owner – is the secret that has allowed the business to go through and overcome all the moments of crisis that repeatedly, in recent years, have plagued Ivrea and the Canavese area. . People have drastically reduced their expenses but, at least in my sector, they have not given up on looking for quality: in recent years, perhaps, they have limited themselves to buying fewer items. I just made sure that everything they bought never failed to offer those guarantees of durability and wearability over time that only certain excellent brands could translate into reality “.
The quality, in the small and elegant shop in via Arduino, was not only limited to the goods, but also found confirmation in the interpersonal relationship: Filli Scardigno, in fact, has kept intact, in all these long years, her being a capable woman, competent and absolutely correct. The latter feature that customers have recognized on the fly and proved to appreciate very much.
Mother of two daughters, Federica, 46, and Francesca, 39, as well as the very happy and affectionate grandmother of Giulia, 26, and the twins Pietro and Sofia, aged 14, Filli has always kept herself beautiful and smiling and the time seems to her not be passed. In 2014, in an interview in the context of Lady Commercio, he had confided his dream of meeting the right person with whom to share these years of finally serene maturity and to be filled only with positive things and, for some time now, his hopes have been translated into reality, even going beyond the rosiest expectations: happiness has arrived, as all those who love and esteem it have always wished it.
Sorry only for the closure of the shop which further impoverishes a beautiful street that has not yet managed to solve, however, the problem of inexplicable difficulties in translating into a very popular and attractive center. The Filli Linea Intimate store has done its part, contributing, in the golden years as in those of crisis, to making the city more beautiful and welcoming and so did its owner, a kind and competent person, who will certainly leave a beautiful memory in its customers and in the commercial history of the city. –
