Ivrea, the Ferris wheel has arrived at the Rondolino: 4 trucks for assembly

Councilor Casali: “Elsewhere they pay them, here they come for free”. Larger parking area occupied until 1 October

Four trucks loaded with material announced the arrival of Gerky Parisi’s Ferris wheel in Ivrea. From the shores of Lake Maggiore to those of the cerulean Dora, it already promises a great show, with the view of the historic center from above, the castle, the river, with the whole Morainic amphitheater and the Alps in the background. “This wheel with a circumference of 35 meters – reveals Danilo Parisi, who is taking care of the set-up -, we only mounted it in Ivrea and Arona, not even at the Turin Cranes where we brought a smaller one”. The inauguration is set for Saturday morning at 10. Tickets will cost eight euros for adults and six for children.

The operations were directed yesterday in Piazza del Rondolino by the commander of the traffic police Paolo Molinario, the councilor Giuliano Balzola, the mayor Stefano Sertoli and the councilor Costanza Casali. And it is Casali himself who has worked extensively to bring the attraction to Ivrea. The idea remains to give new life to commerce in a dead period with two thousand one-euro discounts distributed to traders, with attention to the disabled (500 free tickets distributed to associations and a dedicated booth) and to children. In fact, there will be two parties dedicated to children, in which they will not pay the ticket (but the accompanying adult will pay instead). «We are studying – Casali specifies – some surprises for Halloween. However, we are happy to have managed to bring one of the highest itinerant Ferris wheels in Italy for the first time to Canavese. We also underline that some administrations have paid for the attraction to come, but here they pay for everything ».

The assembly of the wheel began on Tuesday evening and will continue until Friday, October 1st, then it will remain until November 21st. The attraction will occupy eleven paid and four white parking spaces, plus one for the disabled, which will be moved. “But – explains the commissioner Giuliano Balzola – remember that disabled people park for free in all blue places”.

During the assembly phase, however, the area required for maneuvers is larger: at the moment it occupies almost half of the parking spaces in Piazza del Rondolino (the area was fenced off only yesterday afternoon). This is to allow the maneuvers of the four trucks, which yesterday created some moments of confusion in the city traffic, with queues that were resolved in a short time. Then the cars began to flow again with the daily inconveniences that have plagued the long Dora and Corso Botta for some time at rush hour.
