We have to thank Sergio Mattarella. The “necessary President” of a parliamentary republic, but perennially emergency. Afflicted by a “virus” that comes before and will last even after Covid. In one of the most difficult seven years in our history, the Head of State who took leave of the Italians has mended the torn canvas of the institutions. It has made up for the shortcomings of an unsuitable system for resolving crises.
