Leonardo DiCaprio congratulates Colombia
“A new national park has been established in Colombia. On more than 168,000 acres, the Serranía de Manacacías National Natural Park will safeguard six unique ecosystems and unlimited wildlife, including ocelots, South American tapirs, South American coatis and a quarter of all species of known birds in Colombia (…) The creation of the Serranía de Manacacías National Natural Park highlights Colombia’s commitment to the global objective of protecting 30% of the planet by 2030, for the benefit of all life on Earth,” DiCaprio explained in his message.

Finally, the renowned Hollywood actor emphasized that the achievement of inaugurating the Serranía de Manacacías Natural Park is the fruit of the collaboration between the Colombian National Parks Agency and various environmental organizations, both international and local.
“The project was made possible thanks to the work of local partners such as Jack Dangermond, Wyss Foundation, Haley Mellin, Carol Bové, David Zwirner Gallery and the financial support of Re:wild through the Amazon Forest Fund. Key partners include The Nature Conservancy, Humboldt Institute, Institute of Natural Sciences of the National University of Colombia, Wildlife Conservation Society, WWF, Cormacarena and the Alliance for the Conservation of Biodiversity, Territory and Culture. “This achievement highlights the synergy between various entities in environmental preservation and the creation of the park in Colombia,” expressed the American actor, congratulating Colombia for the opening of this new park in the Serranía.
