Letta: “Right choices from Draghi The League does not follow Salvini”

«On the green pass the choices were the right ones. We are going in the right direction ». This was stated by the secretary of the Democratic Party, Enrico Letta, speaking with journalists in Lamezia Terme (Catanzaro), on the sidelines of an electoral initiative for the Regionals in Calabria. «Draghi – added Letta – made the right choices. We support it, Salvini not together with Meloni, only that Meloni is opposition and therefore it is also understandable that Meloni has another position, Salvini is in the government and is a part of the majority which is continuous opposition. Luckily – the secretary of the Democratic Party pointed out – that the main part of the League has decided not to follow Salvini and instead support the line of responsibility of the government in my opinion: it is our line, we carry it forward. The Democratic Party at this moment – concluded Letta – is the party of responsibility, which is supporting the government in the most important and complex choices, and the party that guarantees responsibility in the country at this time ».

«What I see is that in Calabria, as in all the other cities that vote in our country, the trend from the moment the electoral campaign began is everywhere a trend of our growth. Since – added the secretary of the Democratic Party – there are still two weeks left to vote, I am convinced that our growth will eventually lead us to win the elections and elections in Calabria. I think it is above all a sign of the voters’ awareness that the center-right and the right are falling apart. I would like the Calabrians to think of Rome and Milan: if the right has treated Rome and Milan like this, fielding two candidates who are literally liquefying during the electoral campaign, what is the sense of seriousness of a coalition that is not able to guarantee, in the two most important Italian cities, not even the possibility of candidates reaching at least the end of the vote. In Milan they do not even reach the end of the vote, in Rome the same. That’s why – Letta found – I am very confident. That’s why I see that our effort over the next two weeks will be at a loss, municipality by municipality ».
