Light and shadow: 70,000 employees are missing in trade and crafts

Yesterday, Renate Scheichelbauer-Schuster, head of the trades and crafts section of the Chamber of Commerce, spoke of a “cocktail consisting of inflation, high energy costs, a shortage of skilled workers and supply bottlenecks”. Sales in 2022 were 3.5 percent lower than in the previous year, which means that the division recorded a real drop in sales for the third year in a row.
