The 4-year-old girl who fell yesterday from the window on the third floor of a building in Macerata is in stable condition, even if the prognosis remains confidential. Her mother, on the other hand, a 40-year-old woman of Indian origin, was arrested on charges of attempted murder. It was she, according to police investigations and testimony from her neighbors, who would have thrown her under her. The 40-year-old then attempted suicide, trying to cut her veins, and is now hospitalized, as is her little girl in the Ancona hospital.
The woman allegedly acted out of fear, which at the moment does not seem well founded, that the child’s father, who lives with them and another couple of friends of the same nationality, would steal the child and take her with him to India.
Yesterday afternoon there was a call to the single emergency number. When the policemen arrived, the child was found still alive, on the ground, and had been transported by air ambulance to the Torrette hospital and then transferred to Salesi. The woman had also been transported to the hospital for treatment. During the inspection of the Scientific Police, which intervened together with the Flying, the scene was crystallized: the blood traces were collected and every detail preserved.
The Mobile police officers had then immediately started the investigation which focused on the mother of the child. The lady is now guarded in the hospital and, if the accusation is confirmed, she will have to answer for attempted murder.
According to what was reported by the head of resuscitation, Alessandro Simonini, the child instead suffered vertebral injuries without myelic involvement, bilateral contusions, small flaps of bilaterally pneumothorax, a dioosseous fracture in the left forearm and another pertrochanteric in the right leg, which are were reduced this morning, and deep wounds in the neck, for which she was operated on last night.
