Thousands of demonstrators in Israel took to the streets over the weekend, demanding that the government make more efforts to ensure the release of hostages, prisoners of the Hamas movement.
A hostage-taking march was organized in the capital, Tel Aviv, on Saturday, February 3, under the slogan “120 days underground,” in relation to the number of days in which more than 130 hostages were held.
The Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” quoted a 15-year-old speaker, whose cousin was kidnapped in the Gaza Strip, on October 7, as saying, “Prime Minister Bibi (Benjamin) Netanyahu, please bring them back to the homeland at any cost.”
In another demonstration in Tel Aviv, participants demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister of Israel and the holding of early elections.
They accused Netanyahu of subjecting efforts to secure the hostages’ release to his requirements.
About a thousand people demonstrated in Jerusalem, also in favor of the release of the hostages.
