After the green light from Vas, the committee calls the mayors to their responsibilities: «Not all is decided yet. The last word belongs to the first citizens ».
CASALE. The “No Maxi Polo” coordination of Casale, after the news of the green light from the Vas regional commission on the plan which provides for the transformation of an area of 500 thousand square meters into three mega warehouses, reiterates its opposition. And it does so by reiterating the role that the next administration of Casale will be able to play in the matter: “It is not true that” the Region decides “. It is not true that “everything is already decided”. The last word remains with the mayors in whose hands the citizens put their territory ».
In this phase, the group of associations and citizens that for two years has been mobilizing to prevent the transformation of the former Theme Park into three maxi sheds, focuses on persuasion towards the candidates for mayors. On 12 June, in Casale, a vote is taken for the renewal of the council and municipal council, after two consecutive mandates that have seen the team of Casale Futura firmly in government. After trying to sink the project, with a series of precise observations on the environmental impact, the coordination “No Maxi Polo” now that the project is about to overcome the caudine forks of the regional Strategic Environmental Assessment Commission (Vas), all that remains is hope for a change of pace by the municipality.
In a note released yesterday, on the eve of the confrontation between the three candidates for mayors scheduled for today at the municipal auditorium and promoted by the Forum of productive activities, the coordination reiterated that the data of the project “unequivocal, real, documented highlighted thefurther pollution, noise and traffic that the maxi pole is destined to bring to an area already exploited beyond all limits, scattered with industrial areas, subdivisions and warehouses partly abandoned and at risk of deterioration. Not to mention the blow to the little bit of local trade left ». At the moment, however, the committee lacks a real political interlocutor.
