TREVISO. Marta Durante is 19 years old, she is the sister of Tommaso and daughter of Rosalba Lagonigro.Marta got her driving license in September 2021 and is therefore a new driver.

As such, for the first three years, he must completely refrain from drinking, observe particular speed limits, such as not exceeding 100 km / h on the motorway and 90 km / h on extra-urban roads, for the first year after release it is not allowed. the driving of motor vehicles with a specific power, referred to the tare, higher than 55 kW / t and with a maximum power of 75 HP. And finally, for each infringement that provides for the deduction of points from the driving license, according to article 126 bis of the Highway Code, double the points will be subtracted.

What do your parents tell you before you take the car?

«To be careful especially if my friends are driving, not to get in the car with someone who has been drinking and if I drive to be careful, always stay focused and pay no attention to other distractions. They assume I don’t use my phone and don’t drink. They trust me, but they remark a lot to be careful ».

What is the advice they gave you that you think is the most valid?

«The habit since I was little is to put on the seat belt as soon as I got into the car. We young people have this foresight. And then my dad gives me practical advice, such as to keep a safe distance, especially when I’m in the middle of two trucks ».

What do you fear most when you are driving?

“I have no particular fears that block me. The fact that I don’t know the road creates a bit of anxiety for me, I feel less safe and therefore I drive much more carefully ».

Are you happy with your parents’ support in the area of ​​safe driving?

“Yes, we talk a lot with my parents, especially in the face of news of fatal accidents involving peers. It can happen in an instant and having it always present is important. When I’m driving I think back to my parents’ words, we talk about the accidents made by my peers and my parents tell me about their experiences, I also learn from that ».

What’s your reaction when you hear young kids dying on the street?

«I was very touched by the news of the death of a boy who was named Tommaso like my brother, he was the same age and who was returning from a party where my brother had also been».

Why did these peculiarities strike you? And in what way?

“All these coincidences made me think. That tragedy could have happened to us. I felt very bad for this boy and for his family ».
