Spring Festival Holiday Travel Booming Across China
As the Spring Festival holiday continues, travel to various destinations across China is seeing a significant boom. Data indicates that the number of tourists visiting key cultural and tourism attractions across the country has reached 123 million, marking a 22.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Many tourist attractions have organized a variety of activities based on their unique characteristics to attract visitors.
In the Shanhai Qianzhong Cultural Tourism District in Pinghu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, numerous New Year activities have been prepared for tourists. As night falls, the national fashion lights with strong Chinese characteristics light up, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the block.
Local tourist, Mr. Wen, expressed his excitement about the Year of the Dragon celebrations, stating, “This year is the Year of the Dragon. The dragon is flying and the tiger is leaping. It is safe and sound. Everyone is having fun with their families. It is a good atmosphere to create.”
In Enshi, Hubei Province, various lanterns alongside the Xuan’en Gongshui River form a sea of lanterns at night, adding to the festive ambiance of the town. Additionally, dragon elements and special delicacies are making the town more vibrant and full of New Year flavor.
One visitor, Zhang Youhui, shared their experience, stating, “I took my family to experience it and it felt very good. The children were very excited and (said) Mom, it feels very good to be able to ride on the dragon’s bamboo raft in this county.”
Throughout the Spring Festival holiday, Shanghai’s streets have been hosting various New Year activities, including dragon and lion dances, light and shadow shows, and more. The newly launched “Sparkling Hundreds of Billion Business District, Light and Shadow Show New Year” event has brought beauty to the entire Nanjing West Road business district in Shanghai.
On the outdoor large screen of a shopping mall on Nanjing West Road, a smart, fashionable, winding, and bright “light and shadow dragon” has soared out, creating a mesmerizing experience for visitors with the use of naked-eye 3D technology.
The festive celebrations across the country are attracting both local citizens and tourists, providing an opportunity for everyone to experience the joyful scenes of the Year of the Dragon.
