New failure of a water pipeline: still inconveniences in Porto Torres

A stretch of water pipeline

On the section of Coghinas 2 still a break: Enas workers at work. Harsh protest by the mayor Massimo Mulas

SASSARI. New break this morning on the section of the Coghinas 2 aqueduct affected by a previous failure in the night between Friday and Saturday. The Enas teams are on site to assess the damage and understand whether it is the failure of the previous repair or a break in a subsequent section of the pipeline.

Abbanoa has sufficient resources for the moment to guarantee the supply in Sassari but inconveniences are announced above all in Portò Torres, where integration from local wells has been activated which can only partially guarantee the needs of the inhabited center. Disruptions are therefore expected up to the conclusion of the repair of the Enas pipeline and the restart of the plants (It is assumed tomorrow but there are no certainties). There will be 3 tank trucks: at the Spirito Santo vaccination hub, at the sports field in via delle Vigne and in via Mare.

The mayor of the Turrian center Massimo Mulas protests: “It is inconceivable _ he says _ that there is no water for three days in a row and that, of all the centers in the North West, Porto Torres is the most penalized. For some time now we have been strongly asking that all the works that had been promised also on this front are completed, and which still take a long time to see the light. We cannot continue to receive water in fits and starts: the remaking of the pipelines is an indispensable priority “.
