Pnrr, Next Generation Eu, cohesion policies and structural funds: they amount to over 10 billion euros the funding allocated to Emilia-Romagna by the European Union, in the budget for the last seven years. Funds to support the growth and development of the region, of which 375 million euros for the restart and the reconstruction of the territories affected by the terrible flood last May.
“A package of resources never seen before which have triggered extraordinary opportunities for the public and private regional system”, commented the regional councilor for Budget and Relations with the EU, Paolo Calvanospeaking today in the Legislative Assembly during the 2024 European Session.
In the Chamber during the session, through a resolution, they were also objectives and requests have been set that the Emilia-Romagna Region places on the EU. These include support for the management of artificial intelligence, the development of clean energy, ecological transition and water resilience, the strengthening of biotechnology and a commitment to the protection of minors.
The requests of viale Aldo Moro are also based on the results achieved in recent years by the Regionwhich, on main indicators relating to work, development and rightsand places above the Italian average and comes close to the standards required by the European Union.
“The EU, also in view of the imminent renewal of Parliament and Commission, must pay attention to the environment, the protection and creation of jobs, and accompany the process of digital transformation – added thecouncilor-. In short, to increasingly focus on the logic of solidarity and cohesion that has always accompanied the European path and on which the Union was born and of which Emilia-Romagna is the protagonist”.

And also European integration, of which Emilia-Romagna, he adds Calvano, “wants to continue to be a protagonist, also contributing to the integration processes of states that are not in the Union today, starting from the territorial cooperation paths initiated. Like the Adrion program, of which we are the managing body, which involves ten European partners, of which five states are in the pre-accession phase. Interreg Ipa Adrion 2021-2 is a transnational European territorial cooperation program, with the Emilia-Romagna Region Managing authoritywhich involves ten European and non-European states. To date the transnational cooperation program Interreg IPA ADRION approved a total of 67 candidate projects in the first call for the 2021-2027 programming period for a total of 85.8 million euros (out of a total of approximately 300 million).
