passenger of the crashed Concorde bus – news

news spoke with Camila Patiño, a young woman from Casanareña who on Wednesday, March 27 (Holy Wednesday) was traveling on the Concorde company bus, which ended up overturned on the Bogotá – Tunja dual carriageway near the municipality of Sesquilé, covering the Bogotá – Yopal route, where unfortunately two people, originally from the municipality of Maní, died.

The first thing the young woman points out is that the public service vehicle does not start

It didn’t come at the scheduled time and for which they had sold the tickets, but more than an hour later because they were always telling them that “they were getting it ready.”

Camila, who was traveling with her pet, points out that the intermunicipal bus was traveling very fast and that from one moment to the next it began to zig-zag or sway from side to side, until the driver “slammed his head to avoid crashing into the separator and the bus overturned to the right side.”

According to the young girl’s story, the bus overturned and dragged for at least a hundred meters, due to the speed at which it came.

“It was a micro dream”

Camila adds that before the bus overturned, a passenger who was traveling next to her managed to alert the driver with some shouts about what was happening, but just at that moment “the crash” and the car overturned occurred. “We all thought it was a micro dream.”

“We were locked in, I don’t know how a man broke one of the windows and we started to leave, screams of mothers were heard looking for their children and other relatives, the girl who died climbed out of the window and the child who was traveling with her was trapped under all the chairs,” Camila recalls with anguish.

She points out that once outside and when the relief agencies arrived, they began to evacuate the passengers with more serious wounds and injuries, but they did not pay much attention to her, who was bleeding profusely from her right elbow, despite the intense pain she felt at that time. moment.

“They didn’t attend to me”

As she could, and seeing that another Concorde bus that was en route to Bogotá stopped at the site of the accident, she approached with other people to ask to be returned to the capital of the republic.

Upon arriving at the Bogotá Terminal, she went to the emergency room, but it was difficult for them to attend to her because they requested the SOAT of the vehicle where she had had the accident. Given this situation, around 4:30 in the morning, she contacted her mother in Yopal to ask her what to do.

The distraught mother of the family chose, at that time, to get a plane ticket so that her daughter could get to Yopal and take her to the emergency room. Already around 11 in the morning on Thursday Camila arrived at the HORO in Yopal to seek medical help, but she also encountered the barrier of vehicle documents so that they could provide her with care. Her mother obtained a certification from the Concorde company that she was a passenger on the bus and a family friend managed to obtain the vehicle documents, so that she could finally be seen.

Camila has a serious injury to her right elbow, which caused her to lose skin tissue, which is why she could not be sutured. They performed the respective healing on her and ordered medication so that she would progressively recover the skin and tissue that she lost.

Today Camila must return to her job in Bogotá, and she does not want to do it again by land. She says that the memory of the accident would not let her get back on an intermunicipal transport bus, for now. She never imagined that spending Holy Week with her family in Yopal would be so traumatic.
