From Chiaverano to Ivrea, the waiters of the operators: “We hope our turn will arrive soon, the only take-out does not pay”

After all there is a lot to do in the bathing establishment to which it gives its name, between maintenance and preparation of spaces and equipment (the beach can accommodate 350 people including the lawn, calculating one meter and 50 between one sunbed and another and ten square meters between the sunbed and umbrella positions). Waiting like the others to know when the Government will say that the bathing establishments are on their turn. «We are ready, needless to say – says Moia -. We hope to be able to return to work soon, not only are we looking forward to it, but we are very ready. This year we start with an App with which you can book the cot from home without running the risk of queues and gatherings at the entrance. Last year, local tourism made it possible for many people to discover Lake Sirio for the first time, and this allowed us to close a year that promised to be disastrous, due to another party late “.
But there is a but, continues Moia. “I understand that it is difficult to find general rules valid for everyone, and that it is equally difficult not to simplify, but there are realities like mine that I think are anachronistic to regulate as if we were talking about the indoor bar in the center of Ivrea”.
Of the Chalet Moia today the only bar for the take-away service is in operation. Until 6 pm This is how it works for bars and restaurants in the orange zone, regardless of where they are. But «I have the lake in front of me, I am in the middle of nature. I understand everything, but I still haven’t gotten used to the fact of not being able to use the outdoor area with all this space available. We have a terrace overlooking the lake where about twenty tables are well spaced. Yet no one can sit down. Indeed, if one orders a coffee, one must also move and drink it away from the restaurant because drinks are not allowed unless at a safe distance ». All this to say that, «a little flexibility would allow us to limit fixed costs: I have my two children in the cashier, they work with me. To do the math: in February, in yellow, we were open for 8 days. The daily receipts were around 20, 27, 6 euros ».
Towards Ivrea, the lake meets the sports and bathing establishment of the Canottieri Sirio company. Here, waiting for the season to reopen, outdoor gymnastics courses and tours of the lake with pedal boats are organized for members. The facilities for tennis and beach volleyball are also active, sports that do not involve contact permitted by the provisions in force. «For the rest we await the evolution of the reopening – observes the president Giacomo Lettieri -.
