On the morning of today, April 28, a shocking incident shook the tranquility near the runway at the Santa Ana Airport, on the Cartago road, in the department of Valle del Cauca, leaving several injured.
According to preliminary reports, a small plane flying through the area lost control and crashed on the Cartago-Ansermanuevo road, hitting several motorcyclists traveling through the area. One of the motorcyclists was seriously injured and was rushed to the San Juan de Dios hospital in the municipality.
Local authorities and Civil Defense quickly responded to the scene of the accident to provide assistance. The affected motorcyclist, a man of approximately 50 years old, was traveling in the area when the violent crash threw him several meters, throwing him into a well on the road. His health status is reported as reserved. On the other hand, the pilot of the small plane is out of danger after being evaluated by doctors.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Although the details are still being studied, it is speculated that an engine failure could have been the triggering factor for this unfortunate event.
