The Ivrea magistrates have opened a file on the matter
GROSCAVALLO. The firefighters recovered this morning the body of Dennis Craig, the 79-year-old American pilot who crashed on Friday 11 March with his Cirrus single-engine plane while flying over the Lanzo Valleys on his way to Belgium. The GPS signal had disappeared at Ceresole Reale.
The body, which was recovered from the cockpit of the aircraft that fell on the mountains above Groscavallo, at around 2,800 meters, was then transported to the Ivrea hospital at the disposal of the prosecutor who opened a file. Investigations will clarify whether the plane crashed into the mountain due to a breakdown or a pilot error.
