There are 21 villages chosen by the Regions for pilot projects to implement the measure contained in the NRP for the regeneration of villages at risk of abandonment. This is the first line of action, to which 420 million euros are earmarked. The winning villages are: Abruzzo, Rocca Calascio (AQ); Basilicata, Monticchio Bagni (PZ); Calabria, Gerace (RC); Campania, Sanza (SA); Emilia Romagna, Campolo (BO); Friuli Venezia Giulia, Borgo Castello (GO); Lazio, Trevinano (VT); Liguria, Borgo Castello (SV); Lombardy, Livemmo (BS); Marche, Montalto delle Marche (AP); Molise, Pietrabbondante (IS); Piedmont, Elva (CN); Puglia, Accadia (FG); Sardinia, Ulassai (NU); Sicily, Borgo a Cunziria (CT); Tuscany, Borgo di Castelnuovo in Avane (AR); Umbria, Cesi (TR); Valle D’Aosta, Fontainemore (AO); Veneto, Recoaro Terme (VI); Autonomous Province of Trento, Palù del Fersina (TN); Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Stelvio (BZ). Each will receive 20 million euros. The budget will be used for the establishment of new infrastructure functions and services in the fields of culture, tourism, social or research. During the weekend of 28 and 29 May, Fai will collaborate with municipalities and local communities to tell about the 21 villages selected by the Regions.
