Two alleged criminals who were traveling on a motorcycle were detained by the National Police when they tried to flee after a theft north of Valledupar.
According to the authorities, the men minutes before approached some citizens to strip them of their belongings, but those affected managed to alert the community.
For this reason, the aforementioned criminals fled and were pursued by the National Police, who intercepted them in an exchange of shots at diagonal 21 with 18B street in the Los Músicos neighborhood of the city, exactly near the Los Gallos roundabout.
In the operation one of the subjects was injured with a shot to the leg. Likewise, in the middle of a public thoroughfare, he had to be guarded along with his accomplice by the uniformed officers, since the community wanted to lynch them.
The National Police seized a revolver-type firearm and left the detainees at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office on Sunday afternoon.
EL PILÓN learned that for now the subjects were captured for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking or carrying a firearm. The authorities also at press time were trying to determine the identities of the detainees.
