Yesterday, at its second regular session, the government replaced other state secretaries and several heads of ministerial offices, but the members of the former coalition immediately spiced up its preparations for meaningful governance.
Not only the government, but all of Slovakia would rather need calm and focus on solving real problems. The situation is far from without risks, as indicated by yesterday’s information about the deteriorating business mood among our key business partners in Germany and the Czech Republic. European shares also experienced the worst day in two months yesterday, uncertainty is supported by the unclear situation surrounding the US debt ceiling.
The only good news of the day is the deadlock of the proposal to ban Sunday sales. The parliament probably won’t have time to approve it before the elections.
