The Minister of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Territorial Development, President of the National Hajj Commission (CNH), Awaté Hodabalo met on February 12, 2023 in Lomé, restaurateurs who will take care of the pilgrims’ meals Togolese in Mecca.
The delegation led by Mrs. Umm Faisal is charged by the National Hajj Commission with ensuring the catering of the Muslim faithful who will travel to Mecca. The restaurateurs will thus identify local culinary varieties during this mission.
”It is important to take into account the eating habits of our compatriots so that the pilgrimage ritual does not become an ordeal.” Hence the need to try the innovation of having a restaurant that can satisfy Togolese pilgrims with dishes based on local products, even far from their homeland,” said Awaté Hodabalo.
The restaurateurs, for their part, promised to make arrangements for catering based on local food products for the well-being of Togolese pilgrims.
Hajj 2024 will take place in June. The quota of pilgrims this year is 2400 pilgrims supervised by 25 from the official delegation, which makes a total of 2425 Togolese pilgrims.
