San Benigno Canavese, three members of the gang of keys arrested

They could have scored the coup of their lives, instead three members of the gang of keys were intercepted, after a brief chase with sirens explained in the late afternoon of last Sunday, by the carabinieri of the Chivasso radio nucleus in the countryside of Volpiano, near via Meana . And then blocked and arrested for theft, damage and resistance to a public official.

A few moments earlier the three criminals had burgled a house in the center of San Benigno. Inside the villa they had entered in complete tranquility with the keys stolen in the owner’s car parked in the square of a well-known restaurant in Castagneto Po, in the Chivassese hill. And other keys had been stolen as well. Including that of the mayor of Leinì, Renato Pittalis, also for lunch at the restaurant.

Fortunately, someone noticed the theft and raised the alarm to 112. Feeling hunted by three carabinieri patrols, the three criminals first rammed the Alfa Romeo Giuletta dell’Arma, then, after losing control of their car, they fled into the fields as the rain began to fall. A few minutes and they were joined by the carabinieri, which they still tried to oppose violently. Then, however, the men of the Arma prevailed and were arrested.
