SAN FIOR. A violent storm that struck in the north of the Marca on the night between Thursday and Friday 17 left evident traces in San Fior where, at 3 am, lightning struck the dome of the archpriest church.
The parish priest Don Luca Maria Bronziniawakened by the roar, he immediately went to inspect the church by the nearby rectory, finding rubble and even some stones on the ground. In the afternoon today, Friday 17, a technical inspection was carried out to check the damage. The damage involved the electrical system of the church and the nearby oratory, the vault, the boilers and other systems. Several tens of thousands of euros will be needed for repairs.
Meanwhile, the church remains closed and functions are suspended. The Alpine troops of San Fior have already postponed the party of their group which was scheduled for next week.
