The international photography festival Cortona on the move returns from 15 July to 3 October. This year’s theme is We are humans. “We are all protagonists of this edition, the human being with his relationships, affections and sharing of experiences, a tribute to the ordinary and extraordinary of our condition”, explains Arianna Rinaldo, artistic director of the festival.

Among the scheduled exhibitions is the new series by Alec Soth I know how furiously your heart is beating, a poetic exploration of the inner life of the people portrayed. It’s still An everlasting summer -The adventures of Guille and Belinda by Alessandra Sanguinetti, which addresses the themes of friendship, relationships and the passage of time. The winning project of the Happiness on the move 2019 award will also be exhibited Circus love – The magical life of Europe’s family circuses by Stephanie Gengotti: a report on circus art and the sense of sharing, of family and the need to rediscover the relationship with nature. Gender identity, autonomy, inclusion and responsible love are the main concepts around which the project revolves Cora’s courage by Gabo Caruso.

A section is dedicated to current affairs with the work of Jon Henry Stranger fruit on police violence against blacks in the United States; while Marco Garofalo exhibits the series Energy portraits, in which it faces the global challenge of access to energy. Finally, Paolo Pellegrin presents a project created for the festival on the effects of the pandemic on relationships between people.

In addition to the exhibitions there will be workshops, meetings and portfolio readings.
