Cold front brings winter advance above 1,500 meters
(ANSA) – BOLZANO, 06 OCT – In South Tyrol the cold front, which in these hours is crossing the Alps, has brought the first snow on the mountains. The snowplows are in action at Passo dello Stelvio and the famous road with its 48 hairpin bends can only be covered with winter equipment. Snow is currently falling up to 1,500 meters, in the south of South Tyrol up to 1,900 meters.
During the day, after the advance of winter, the foehn will arrive and with the passing of the hours the winds will rotate, arranging themselves from the north and the precipitations will tend to gradually run out by evening. (HANDLE).
