Stand-up paddling in winter: documentary with Riederin and Ohlsdorferin

The trend sport of stand-up paddling – that is the passion of Alexandra Hutter from Ried and her colleague Sigrid Lesterl from Ohlsdorf, who comes from Dorf an der Pram. What connects the two is their hobby, which they pursue at any time of the year. A year ago, the Upper Austrians spent a day filming with ServusTV for the well-known series “Heimatleuchte”.

The title of the episode, which will be broadcast today at 8:15 p.m., is “Salzburg’s Lakes in Winter.” Filming took place at Mattsee, among other places: “It’s unbelievable how much work goes into a few minutes of broadcast time,” says Hutter. The weather gods were less kind to the duo on the day of filming. After a short time, strong winds picked up and the lake showed its rough side. “The challenge was not to let anything show and to follow the director’s instructions exactly,” says Lesterl.

In the end, the trend sport, which is becoming increasingly popular, is cast in a completely new, wintery light, far away from the sun and swimming fun. “What we enjoy so much about paddling is that we can do this sport all year round. A winter landscape viewed from the water is always impressive and decelerating for us at the same time,” say Hutter and Lesterl.
