Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 20 (Xinhua) — The 34th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress concluded on the morning of the 20th at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. After a vote, the meeting passed the Futures and Derivatives Law and the newly revised Vocational Education Law; it was decided to remove Wang Menghui from the post of Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. President Xi Jinping signed Presidential Decrees No. 111, 112 and 113 respectively. Chairman Li Zhanshu presided over the closing meeting.

138 members of the Standing Committee attended the meeting, and the number of participants met the quorum.

After the closing meeting, the 13th National People’s Congress Standing Committee held the twenty-eighth special lecture, chaired by Chairman Li Zhanshu. Wang Annan, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Yellow River Water Conservancy Committee of the Ministry of Water Resources, gave a lecture entitled “The Relationship between Humans and Rivers from the Ecological Evolution of the Yellow River Basin”.
