The Central Meteorological Observatory in China has issued orange warnings for heavy snow and ice in various regions. According to China Net, the warnings were issued on February 4 and will continue to be in effect.
The heavy snowfall is expected to impact central and northern Anhui, central and northern Jiangsu, and central and southern Shandong from 14:00 on February 4 to 14:00 on February 5. Some areas could see heavy snowfall with a depth of 2 to 6 centimeters, and up to 10 centimeters in certain places.
To prepare for the extreme weather conditions, the government and relevant departments are advised to carry out emergency response work to prevent snow disasters and frost damage. Additionally, transportation, railway, electric power, communications, and other departments have been instructed to strengthen the inspection and maintenance of roads, railways, and power lines while also conducting road cleaning and snow melting. People are being told to reduce unnecessary outdoor activities and reinforce temporary structures that may be impacted by snow.
In addition to the heavy snow warning, the Central Meteorological Observatory has also issued a freezing orange warning for certain regions. Freezing rain is expected to occur in parts of central and eastern Guizhou, southeastern Chongqing, most of Hunan, and mountainous areas in western Jiangxi, southern Anhui, and northwestern Zhejiang.
Residents are advised to stay updated on the latest news and defense notices about freezing, take measures to keep warm, and pay attention to anti-skid when traveling. Transportation, electric power, public security, agriculture, and other departments are urged to make preparations to deal with icing on roads, power lines, and anti-freezing crops.
