In Ohio, United States, an unusual case emerged where two women were accused of abusing a man’s corpse to withdraw money from the bank. The suspects, Loreen B. Feralo, 55, and Karen Kasbohm, 63, reportedly found the man dead and decided to take his body to a bank where they had accompanied him days before.

According to Ashtabula police chief Robert B. Stell, the women, with the help of an unidentified third person, carried the body in a car to the bank so that the staff could witness it before they could withdraw an undisclosed amount. The suspects had previously withdrawn money with the man present, using the bank teller.

After completing the withdrawal, the suspects left the body at the Ashtabula County Medical Center and quickly left the scene without providing any information about the man. Later, one of the women called the police facility and identified the body as Douglas Layman, 80 years old.

Officers went to Layman’s house, where the roommates admitted to the trip to the bank. The suspects appeared in court, but it remains unclear whether they pleaded guilty or sought legal representation. The bail for Kasbohm was set at $5,000, and Feralo is scheduled to appear in court next week for arraignment.

The bizarre incident has left the community shocked and questioning the motives behind such a macabre act. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in this disturbing crime.
