The National Museum of China is gearing up to launch an exciting and culturally enriching exhibition titled “Dragon Returns to National Expo New Year Exhibition” in honor of the upcoming Year of the Dragon. The exhibition, which opens tomorrow, will feature more than 200 pieces of cultural relics, including the unveiling of the renowned Neolithic Hongshan Culture Jade Dragon “C.”

Described as “China’s No. 1 Dragon,” the Hongshan Jade Dragon is a crucial material for studying the original form of the dragon. Carved from dark green Xiuyan jade, this exquisite piece boasts a smooth body, a long kiss on its head, and flying mane, depicting a vivid and intricate representation of the dragon.

In addition to the unveiling of the Hongshan Jade Dragon, the exhibition will also showcase a wide range of cultural relics from the Neolithic Age to the early 20th century. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire bronzes, jade, porcelain, gold and silverware, lacquerware, and paintings, with over 90% of the exhibits being publicly displayed for the first time.

The exhibition aims to highlight the beauty of decorative dragon patterns and their cultural significance.
