The Emergency Management Department of the Office of the National Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief Committee is actively working to dispatch rain, snow, and freezing disaster prevention and response efforts. The department is emphasizing the need for front-line supervision and the careful and consistent implementation of all tasks.

On February 24th, the Office of the National Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the China Meteorological Administration held discussions and video conferences to coordinate efforts in provinces such as Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou. There is a high risk of freezing rain and ice particles in these areas, making disaster prevention efforts crucial.

The ongoing rain and snow weather process in the southern region is beginning to weaken, but precautions are still necessary due to the hysteresis of secondary disasters. The discussion highlighted the importance of maintaining a high level of vigilance and strictly implementing preventive measures at all levels.

There is a focus on strengthening organizational leadership and coordination, conducting on-site supervision, ensuring materials and personnel are in place, and implementing necessary measures to prevent snow-related disasters. Additionally, efforts to ensure smooth traffic, power supply, and emergency response and relief are being prioritized.

Anhui Province has requested support for snow melting agents and highway maintenance, to which the Office of the National Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief Committee and the Ministry of Emergency Management have urgently coordinated with relevant entities to provide assistance.

As the winter weather continues to pose challenges, it is essential for all levels of government and relevant agencies to work together to ensure the safety and well-being of the public during this critical period.
