The emergency response to low-temperature rain, snow and freezing disasters in these two provinces has been upgraded to Level III

by admin

The emergency response to low-temperature rain, snow, and freezing disasters in Hubei and Anhui provinces has been raised to Level III. This decision comes as widespread rain, snow, and freezing weather have continued to impact the central and eastern regions since January 31.

The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued an orange blizzard warning and a frozen orange warning in response to the complex phase of rain and snow, wide-ranging freezing rain, and the high risk of low-temperature rain and snow freezing disasters. This weather phenomenon coincides with the peak period of returning home before the Spring Festival, increasing the potential for major property losses and casualties.

In response to the heightened emergency level, the Ministry of Emergency Management has called for close attention to weather changes, strong organizational leadership, and overall coordination. The ministry has also emphasized the importance of strengthening emergency rescue forces, material pre-positioning, and deployment to deal with the sudden dangers and disasters caused by the inclement weather.

To support local governments in their disaster relief and rescue efforts, the Office of the National Disaster Prevention, Reduction, and Relief Commission, along with the Ministry of Emergency Management and the State Administration of Grain and Material Reserves, has allocated 40,000 pieces of central disaster relief materials, including cotton coats and quilts, to Hubei and Anhui provinces.
