The first laboratory results on the Omicron variant arrive from South Africa. The loss of efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine is “substantial, if not complete,” writes the group of scientists led by Alex Sigal, of the Africa Health Research Institute, in a study published so far in MedrXiv. And the pharmaceutical company announces: “The new vaccine is expected in March”.
