The high complexity hospital project remains ‘alive’ in Risaralda

Despite the multiple problems and setbacks that the work had last year, due to situations such as the lack of studies and final designs of the highly complex area, a situation that led the Ministry of Health to request the return of the first $200 billion pesos that the national government had delivered for this project, the governor of Risaralda has ratified his commitment to taking this ‘dream’ forward.

Precisely, the departmental leader appointed José Fredy Arias as project manager, who has been working hard to solve the problems inherited from the previous administration.

“The project had an administrative sanction of $100 million, the truth is that we got it cheap because what was intended with the administrative process initiated by the Ministry of Health was to take the resources of the region, which would have practically collapsed the project,” José Fredy Arias emphasized.

It must be taken into account that the administrative and external consultation area is currently being built. Recently, officials from the Ministry of Health inspected the works of this first building, highlighting the good development of the work during the administration of Juan Diego Patiño Ochoa.

Likewise, it should be noted that, given the non-compliance in the execution of this project in previous years, the Attorney General’s Office has been carrying out a preventive procedure in which each month they evaluate the progress of the work, both in its physical part and in what corresponds to the studies and designs.

In the different meetings held, the departmental leader has expressed his support and total willingness to carry out this megaproject that will benefit more than 3 million inhabitants of the Coffee Region, Chocó and North Valle del Cauca.

The project manager stressed that today the works of the administrative and external consultation part are being done with own resources and highlighted that work is being done on the financial closure. “We hope in three months to be able to count on this closure and to tell, categorically, the Riseraldenses, that the project will be a reality and that we will soon begin work on the highly complex part,” the official said.
