COMELICO. The mayors of Comelico formally ask for the general vaccination of the population, adhering to the hypothesis started by the Ulss 1 Dolomiti Prevention Department.

A joint note, issued on March 13 by Marco Staunovo Polacco, mayor of Comelico Superiore (2,150 inhabitants, currently 23 infected and 15 in isolation), had overcome any controversy by formally asking for the general vaccination of the population.
An operation which, as he points out Ivano Mattea, mayor of Danta (440 inhabitants), can represent «an important test also at the national level, to demonstrate how, with a mass vaccination campaign, we can get to the total exit from this pandemic, which we have been experiencing for over a year. The controversy broke out a few days ago when, in the face of Ulss1 Dolomiti’s willingness to carry out mass vaccination, Giancarlo Ianese, mayor of San Nicolò di Comelico (300 inhabitants) and president of the mountain union, had advanced ithe fear of being then referred to as the “hospital of the Dolomites”. This is confirmed by the joint note, which reads: “The mayors of Comelico have formally asked the Ulss1 Dolomiti to implement what is proposed by the Department of general vaccination of the population of Comelico, taking into account the particularity of the tourist area and with a high rate of old age.
