According to public information, Chen Jiadong, who was born in August 1959, is from Changle, Fujian. He worked in the forestry system of Fujian Province in his early years. He was a member of the party group and deputy director of the Provincial Forestry Department. Since then, Chen Jiadong has served as the deputy secretary of the Ningde Municipal Party Committee (at the level of the main office), the secretary of the Fu’an Municipal Party Committee, the deputy secretary of the Ningde Municipal Party Committee, and the mayor. Chen Jiadong was appointed Secretary of the Party Group of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen Municipal People’s Congress in December 2016, and was elected as the director of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen Municipal People’s Congress in January the following year. He resigned in January this year and has since been investigated.
Chen Jiadong’s fall was very sudden. According to a report on the Xiamen Municipal Government website, on January 21 this year, the day before the opening of the sixth session of the 13th Fujian Provincial People’s Congress, the Xiamen delegation held a delegation meeting at the resident, and Chen Jiadong attended the meeting as the representative of the Xiamen delegation.

Chen Jiadong’s official career was mainly in the forestry system, and he served as the deputy director and director of the Fujian Provincial Forestry Department. The article stated that the Chinese Academy of Forestry is a national-level scientific research institution directly under the State Forestry Administration. Jiang Zehui served as the president of the Chinese Academy of Forestry for 11 years, until he resigned in 2007 at the age of 68. Jiang Zehui, the president of China Flower Association, has been in office for 16 years.
