Hong Kong’s Ming Pao reported on May 28, citing sources in Beijing, that Xi Jinping’s cronie, Wang Xiaohong (65), who is currently the party secretary of the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China, will succeed Zhao Kezhi, 69, as the minister of public security.
In addition, it is rumored that there will be major adjustments at the top of the CCP’s propaganda system.
The above-mentioned report said that Li Shulei, former director of Xi Jinping’s former department and executive vice-president of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (National School of Governance), will serve as executive vice-minister of the Central Propaganda Department.
In April this year, Wang Xiaohui, the former executive vice-minister of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, was transferred to be the secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee.
“Ming Pao” reported that the position of executive vice president (dean) of the Central Party School (National School of Administration) was held by Xu Lin, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the State Council Information Office, and the vacancy was held by the deputy director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission. According to a report by the South China Morning Post on May 26, Le Yucheng (58), the vice minister of foreign affairs of the Communist Party of China, will be appointed as the director of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of the Communist Party of China, and will be promoted to a minister-level official. However, “Sing Tao Daily” reported that Le Yucheng was the deputy director of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and was still at the deputy minister level.
The latter report also believes that Le Yucheng is the first-ranked vice minister of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the only alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China among the vice foreign ministers. This external transfer means that Le Yucheng has missed the position of foreign minister, and it is not clear why he has faded out of the diplomatic circle.

On the evening of May 28, CCP state media reported that 61-year-old Zhang Gong, director of the State Administration for Market Regulation of the Communist Party of China, was appointed as a member, standing committee and deputy secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee.
