A higher number than the 195 initially foreseen, thanks to an increase in funds that brings the total allocation from 800 million to one billion and 189 million euros.

The rankings of the areas in which the 216 schools will be built were published on the website of the Ministry of Education, following the public notice addressed to local authorities published at the beginning of December.

Nine new schools will be built in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with an allocation of 32,206,524 euros.

“The ‘new schools’ project – declares the Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi – is one of the most innovative of our Education Pnrr. After the presentation of the guidelines created by the working group made up of great architects and school experts, we conclude another stage of the journey with the indication of the areas where the schools will be built.

The next step is the design competition to identify the projects, which will be inspired by the guidelines. We have increased the resources available to the project to 1.189 billion from the initial 800 million, and the number of schools to 216. The new schools will be conceived as open and inclusive spaces, built in a sustainable way and will be built on the territories of 85 provinces, starting from the principles contained in the document “Designing, building and living the school”, developed by a working group, composed of great architects, pedagogues and experts of the school, wanted and instituted by the minister Bianchi.

The decalogue, which was presented a few days ago at the Triennale in Milan, is designed to provide a new cultural horizon on the school and give useful information to the designers who will be responsible for the construction of the schools of the future.

The planned interventions will concern schools of the different orders and will be carried out both in large cities and in small municipalities, with the aim of equipping all regions, on the basis of the requests made, with a new school architecture that is then an inspiration for all the new ones. buildings.

After the identification phase of the 216 construction areas, we will now move on to the announcement of the design competition. At the end of the competition, the Ministry of Education will proceed to the stipulation of the grant granting agreement with the beneficiary institutions.

Furthermore, on Wednesday 11 May, Minister Patrizio Bianchi will meet in video link with the mayors and presidents of the Provinces of the areas admitted to the funding, to immediately give all the necessary indications for the implementation of the interventions with a view to dialogue and fundamental support. for the success of the actions envisaged by the NRP.
