Beijing Institute of Education Launches School of Marxism to Promote Ideological and Political Education
In a recent report from our newspaper, it was announced that the School of Marxism at Beijing Institute of Education has been officially unveiled. The school aims to leverage Beijing’s “Big Ideological and Political Courses” Comprehensive Reform Experimental Zone to create high-quality courses, cultivate teaching achievements, and promote the transformation and upgrading of ideological and political courses in universities, middle schools, and primary schools.
The newly established School of Marxism will also provide continuing education training for teachers from basic education schools in the city, with a focus on promoting the construction of high-quality “big ideological and political courses”. The institute plans to integrate ideological and political elements into various aspects of education, including program design, course material review, classroom teaching, and teaching evaluation.
Xiao Yunzhu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Institute of Education, highlighted the institute’s commitment to promoting innovation in teaching and research in primary and secondary schools. This includes exploring integration methods such as “ideological and political courses + social practice” and “ideological and political courses + the Internet” to enhance the quality of classroom teaching and educational outcomes.
In addition, the institute plans to establish a high-quality resource library that can be shared among city universities, middle schools, and primary schools. By optimizing resources and tapping into various ideological and political courses and moral education activities, Beijing Institute of Education aims to cultivate moral character and develop individuals using regional characteristic resources.
Currently, the city has more than 200 “ideological and political course” practical teaching bases in 16 districts. Beijing Institute of Education will collaborate with these bases to strengthen research, resource development, and practical teaching tasks. Teachers will have the opportunity to learn about cultural and museum resources, red resources, and innovation demonstration parks for education and teaching innovation.
