The Security Affairs Office of the State Council has announced the deployment of a large-scale rectification operation to focus on fire safety hazards. The nationwide campaign, which will run from now until the end of March, aims to address outstanding risks and hazards in key places and prevent fire accidents that result in mass deaths and injuries.
The operation will be divided into three stages: mobilization and deployment, troubleshooting, and acceptance evaluation. It will specifically target illegal construction and production operations, insufficient safe evacuation conditions, and illegal installation of anti-theft nets and billboards in “nine small places”, multi-business mixed production and operation places, and crowded areas.
To carry out this operation, the notice outlines six measures, including large-scale investigation, rectification, exposure, drills, talks, and supervision. It emphasizes the need for organizational leadership, tightened responsibilities, and effective measures to investigate potential risks. Additionally, comprehensive safety risk assessments will be conducted to identify key areas and sensitive spots with hidden dangers.
Furthermore, the notice stresses the importance of incorporating this action into daily supervision and inspection, as well as holding individuals and relevant personnel accountable in accordance with laws, regulations, and disciplines if a fire accident with mass deaths and injuries occurs during the operation.
The goal of the operation is to resolutely prevent and contain fire accidents while addressing potential risks and hazards. This nationwide effort reflects the government’s commitment to prioritizing fire safety and safeguarding the lives and well-being of its citizens. (Reporter Liu Wenxin)
