Some dancers wait to perform on the last day of Onam, the harvest festival held in Kochi in the Indian state of Kerala. The celebrations coincide with the start of the year in the Malayalam calendar, and for the occasion people paint their bodies and dance in the street to the rhythm of the percussion. The dance evokes scenes of hunting the largest feline on the planet, and each year attracts large numbers of visitors.
