[NTD News December 30, 2021, Beijing time]After the Xi’an epidemic resulted in the closure of the city, management and control measures have been continuously upgraded. In order to avoid isolation, many local men had to choose to return home on foot, ride shared bicycles, and cross the river. As a result, they were still punished.

According to general Lu media reports, on December 27, a man in his 30s, Zhang, returned to his home in Zhouzhi County, Xi’an City from Yangling District, Xianyang City, and found that the Weihe Bridge was under traffic control, so he crossed the Weihe River. The next day, due to the rising water level of melting ice, Zhang was trapped in the river beach while wading, and was finally rescued.

It is reported that earlier, it snowed in Xi’an on the 26th and the temperature was low.

On the 22nd, a man, Bai, rode out of Xi’an on a shared bicycle overnight and arrived at Chunhua, Xianyang City after about 10 hours of cycling. On the 23rd, Bai rode to the vicinity of the epidemic prevention and control point at the Shiqiao exit. In order to avoid inspection, he abandoned his car on the side of the road and detoured into Chunhua County. In the end, Bai was fined 200 yuan and was also placed in quarantine.

On the 16th, a man of Xi’an nationality set off from Xianyang International Airport and walked more than 100 kilometers through Huyi District of Xi’an City into the Qinling Mountains for 9 days, avoiding the epidemic prevention checkpoints of the towns and villages along the way. On the 24th, the man was found in Haogou Village, Guanghuo Street Town, Ningshan County, Ankang City. In the end, the man was administratively punished and placed in quarantine.

It is reported that the man is from a rural area and has no house in Xi’an. Because he cannot afford the cost of centralized isolation, he chose to risk his return home.

In response, netizens left a message saying: “Bicycle running and swimming, triathlon.” “It’s really hard enough to cross the river in such a cold day… The people of Xi’an are brave…” “It’s really hard. Hiking. Marathon, riding for a hundred kilometers, riding in the river in the twelfth lunar month…” “We have to pay for isolation at our own expense. It costs about a few thousand yuan. It is not easy to go out to work and work hard.” “It may be that we really have no money to isolate at our own expense.

Another netizen asked a question: “Have you ever thought that these people have to go home desperately, why?”

Xi’an has been closed since the 23rd, and all residents are isolated at home. At first, people can go out to buy supplies for two days as a family; however, since the 27th, all residents not only have to stay at home, but also are not allowed to go out to buy daily necessities, unless the city’s nucleic acid tests are tested. The result is negative to go out to buy supplies.

A netizen in Xi’an left a message saying: “You can’t die if you get sick, but you can die if you don’t have food.”

Earlier, there were also online videos showing that local residents were suspected of being arrested for going out to buy vegetables.
