Today, Friday, a Tunisian judge issued a prison deposition card, the third against the leader of the Islamic Ennahda Movement, Rashid Ghannouchi, in what is known as the “secret apparatus” case.
Ghannouchi’s political adviser, Riyad Shuaib, told the German News Agency (dpa) that the investigating judge at the Ariana court asked to hear the head of the movement in the case of the secret service, but he refused to appear before him.
Al-Shuaibi added that the judge issued a prison deposit card against him based on his decision to boycott any call for investigation or trial session.
The case of the “secret apparatus” has been under investigation for years, as parties from the left accuse Ennahda of running it and infiltrating the security services when it was in power. They also accuse it of being involved in political assassinations that claimed the lives of politicians Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi in 2013, charges that Ennahda denies. severely.
The first card was issued in Ghannouchi prison on April 20, for investigation on suspicion of conspiracy against state security, then a second card was issued on May 9 in the case of the “Instalingo” digital media company on suspicion of money laundering.
His family accuses the authorities of systematically violating Ghannouchi and the rest of the opposition prisoners, by subjecting him to interrogation sessions for several consecutive hours without taking into account his age and health status.
Other leaders from the Ennahda movement and the opposition are also in prison on charges of conspiracy against state security and financial corruption.
