Heavy rainfall and strong convective weather are wreaking havoc in various regions of China, with Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangxi, and others at risk of heavy rain disasters in the coming days. The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued warnings to beware of potential secondary disasters caused by the heavy rainfall and continuous downpours.

In recent days, heavy to heavy rains have been reported in parts of central Sichuan, southwestern and eastern Chongqing, eastern Guizhou, southern Hubei, Hunan, central and northern Jiangxi, central and southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian, and northern Guangxi. Changsha in Hunan and several other regions have experienced local heavy rains, with thunderstorms and strong convective weather affecting areas like eastern Chongqing, southeastern Guizhou, and central and western Jiangxi.

The forecast predicts continued heavy rainfall and strong convection in Jiangnan and other areas, with heavy to heavy rains expected in parts of central and northern Jiangxi, southern Zhejiang, northwest Fujian, southeastern Sichuan Basin, southeastern Guizhou, central and northern Guangxi, and northern Guangdong. The Central Meteorological Observatory has issued blue rainstorm warnings and severe convective weather yellow warnings in these regions.

Looking ahead, moderate to heavy rains are expected in Jianghan, Jianghuai, Jiangnan, South China, Sichuan Basin, and Guizhou from the 18th to the 20th. The forecast also includes light to moderate rain and local heavy rain in the eastern part of Northwest China, western North China, and Huanghuai.

In the next three days, parts of southeastern Tibet, central Qinghai, most of Jiangnan, southwestern Sichuan Basin, central and southern Guizhou, and central and northern South China will experience moderate to heavy rains. Strong winds are expected in various regions, including northern Inner Mongolia, southern Xinjiang Basin, northern and southern Tibet, and more.
