The Anti-Narcotics Division of the National Civil Police (PNC), with the support of canine agents, captured during searches carried out at the La Hachadura, Ahuachapán border, two individuals of Guatemalan nationality who were transporting drugs hidden in drug heads that were preparing to enter our country.
Those captured were identified as: William Andrus Vicente Mejía and Julio César Yanes Barrios. Both individuals will be prosecuted for the crime of illicit trafficking.
In the procedure, portions of marijuana weighing approximately 17,154 grams, valued at $60,553.64 dollars, were seized.
“Our country is NOT a corridor for drug trafficking. We are alert at our borders to stop anyone who tries to enter illicit substances into the national territory,” said the Minister of Justice and Security, Gustavo Villatoro.
